Jack Moloney

Hello, I'm Jack

First-year Engineering student at UCD interested in Maths, Physics, and Economics. I enjoy creating practical, innovative solutions, and coding financial models has become the perfect blend of those interests. A selection of my projects is shown below.

Currently Working On

Monte Carlo Market

Building a multi-asset Monte Carlo simulator designed to capture volatility, shifts, tail-risk behaviour and realistic price-path dynamics.

The system will be a full scenario generator for stress testing portfolio allocations under extreme market conditions.

Work In Progress

Previous Projects

Portfolio Risk Analyzer

Multi-asset risk modelling, covariance, sharpe and volatility.

Random Walk Price Simulator

Random price-path simulation with drift and uncertainty modelling.

Atomic Simulation

Three-dimensional molecular force simulations on the atomic scale.

Experience

Electronic & Electrical Engineer

University College Dublin • 2025–Present

As an Electrical and Electronic Engineering student, I work at the intersection of mathematics, physics, and computation. My studies span linear algebra, circuit theory, control, and electromagnetics, supported by hands-on coding in Python, MATLAB, and C. I enjoy building systems and simulations that translate theory into real behaviour and understanding technologies that will shape the future.

Quantitative Modelling

Hobby • 2025–Present

Since finishing my Leaving Cert, I’ve pursued my interest in Economics through quantitative modelling projects.

Member of UCD Elecsoc and Investors & Entrepreneurs (I&E)

University College Dublin • 2025–Present

As a member of UCD ElecSoc and UCD I&E, I take part in technical events and innovation projects that build my engineering, entrepreneurial and collaborative skills.

Founder of Physics Society

Secondary School • 2023–2025

I founded a student-run Physics Society that helped students learn through collaborative, interactive workshops and peer-led problem sessions. Competed in the Senior Applied Maths Competition (IAMTA), representing my school in its first-ever entry.
